Our wedding was on the 22nd of August 2020, and we pulled it together within 6 months in the midst of covid!
My then-boyfriend Jake proposed to me back in March with a gorgeous ring from Mazucellis in Marion. We had chosen the ring together and we're very impressed with how the staff knew their stuff and were so helpful through the process. My wedding band is also from them. We bought my husband's ring from Grahams in Marion after shopping around for a good quality Australian made ring. They were also very helpful and we're not pushy when it came to purchasing. My dress is from Jenny & Gerrys and wow... what a story I have about my dress. I went dress shopping about 7 days after I got engaged - and this is right then covid started to get bad! I showed the assistant Santina my inspo photos and she came back with 5 dresses, and this was the 5th one I tried on. It was absolutely perfect in every way, even the length didn't need to be altered! Best of all, after I had decided that this was ”the dress” I found out it was on a clearance sale and I got it $3000 cheaper than retail price 😃. The dress is made by Pronovias and did not have sleeves, so Tia and the incredible dress makers at J & G custom made these sleeves to my specifications and I am still just blown away by how it turned out. I HIGHLY recommend Jenny & Gerry's! They also currently have my dress for dry cleaning. My shoes were from Novo Earings from Lovisa The boys boots & belts are RM Williams Suits from Tarocash who were wonderful with the boys and gave them great advice on what to wear. Makeup Jessica Marie MUA, Jess is a friend of mine and such a talented make up artist! I basically let her work her magic and make me feel like a princess! My makeup and lashes lasted all day - even through the rain! Hair colouring and styling by Halo Hair Collective. 2 weeks before the wedding I had my hair coloured by Fab at Halo Hair and I was/still am so in love with how she transformed my hair! The colouring was so natural and made me feel so confident. The lovely Emma styled our hair on the wedding day and she was so amazing. I didn't even have a real hairstyle in mind until the morning of the wedding, but she was so happy to go with the flow and I loved how my hair looked! My curls survived the whole day until the rain right at the end of our photos! 😂 Photography by Davish Photography, this was one of the biggest things to me as I am in the wedding industry and I have worked with so many talented photographers. But Elanie's style has always stood out to me and she was at the top of my list from the start. She made the whole process so smooth and was personal and professional when it came to emailing and our ever-changing plans. She was adaptable and so willing to help us wherever we needed and I will never be able to thank her enough for all she did for us. Our photos are incredible and I am OBSESSED with them!! The weather was not on our side, but I can't believe how beautifully they turned out and how she captured such sweet and small moments between my husband and I. We so highly recommend Elanie if you are looking for a photographer! Videography by Rhiannon Miller Productions, our wedding video was also a huge deal to us as our wedding was attended by only a tiny group of family members, but watched online by over 150 people all over Australia & the world. Rhiannon set up a live stream so everyone could watch and filmed the most amazing video of our day. We watched it again a few nights ago and both of us teared up because it was so beautiful and brought back all the emotions of the day. Rhiannon was so good at directing us and helping us feel comfortable in front of the camera and we will forever be grateful to her for capturing the details of our wedding day! Ceremony venue Kangarilla Uniting Church Cake was by Little Crumbs Cake Design. This was another last minute addition to our wedding. I think we got in contact with Jessi within a week of the wedding and she was so good to us. Neither myself or my husband are a fan of sweet foods but Jessi let us taste a few samples and straight away we decided to book her in. Our cake was a simple one tier white chocolate mud cake with buttercream icing and wow it was delicious. Reception dinner at Auchendarroch House, our reception plans changed about 4 times within the last 6 weeks before the wedding because of unpredictable covid restrictions, but about 10 days out from the wedding we got in contact with Michelle from Auccendarroch. She was so helpful and understanding of our situation and I just felt at ease as soon as we spoke. The function room was gorgeous, ornate and intimate for us and our 13 guests and required little decoration of our own. The food was delicious, and they even cut up and served our wedding cake beautifully. Throughout the evening Michelle and the staff were so lovely and made sure to check in with us to ensure we were enjoying our night. 100% recommend Auchendarroch for any function! And lastly, this is not a shoutout but I just want to mention my flowers because I am still in love with them. I own (obviously) Floral Eden, and am a professional wedding and events florist (and so is my mum). I’ve been dreaming of my wedding flowers since I was a little girl, and with the help of pinterest and years of planning I knew exactly what I wanted them to look like. The main piece was the ceremony backdrop, and with a lot of (wo)man power and some amazing people we spent the whole day before the wedding creating this installation plus extra ceremony decor florals. I then went back to the studio and made my bridal and bridesmaid’s bouquets until 10pm! All my florals were white blooms with lush green foliages, including a few specific types of flowers that my mum had in her bridal bouquet back in the 90’s. And now one final shoutout to my husband. The whole wedding was a team effort and I thank him for being so amazing even through my meltdowns over covid restrictions! As much as the wedding day is about the details and planning the most important thing to us was getting married and committing our lives to each other. And we are so enjoying being husband and wife!
